Manda ‘Jane’ Brister Brumitt

Age 92, and a resident of Hammond, La., Manda “Jane” Brister Brumitt went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at her residence. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds at her home. Jane enjoyed traveling with her husband and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

Jane leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Paul, Samantha, Sadie, Becky, Mia and Harrison Mannino; half-sisters, Geneva Holly, Ann Wallace, Catherine Overstreet and Mary Mufford; half-brothers, Floyd Brister and Maxie Brister. She is also survived by her nephews, Sammy and Ricky Mannino and Chuck Brister; niece, Gail H

Preceding Jane in death were her husband, Earl Brumitt; sisters, Bertie Mannino and Lavada “Chick” Wilson; brother, Joe “J.H.” Brister; half-sister, Ruthie Morgan; half-brothers, Morris, George and Garson Brister; parents, Walter “W.L.” and Winnie Brister

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., with visiting hours beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Leon Holly will officiate the services and interment will follow in Rose Memorial Cemetery.
