Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Hawn of Jayess are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Jayess Baptist Church with burial in the Greer Cemetery. The Revs. Harrell Ables; Matthew Wallace; and Richard Greene will officiate. Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Jayess Baptist Church and Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m.
Mrs. Hawn, 75, died Jan. 29, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
She was born Nov. 4, 1938, in Lincoln County to the late Tom and Bertie Mae White Clark. She was a seamstress at Kellwood and had retired in 1995. She was a pillar of the Jayess Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities, and was a strong Christian woman who loved her family and taking care of people.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Charlotte Hawn; three brothers, Earl, Bob, and Jessie Clark; and two sisters, Betty Chapman and Helen Clark.
Mrs. Hawn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wesley Hawn of Jayess; five sons, Billy Hawn of Meridian, Don Hawn and wife, Sandy, of Richland, Jerry and wife, Tracey Hawn of Fort Worth, Texas; Dan and wife, Lori Hawn of Salem, and Justin and wife, Teri Hawn of Jayess; two daughters; Connie and husband, Max, McKenzie of Jayess and Sally Alexander of Jayess. She is also survived by three sisters: Lucille Chapman of Richmond, Calif., Evelyn Rossett of Ruth and Ruth Crisler of Minden, La.; three brothers; Paul Clark; David Clark; and Roger Clark, all of Ruth. Other survivors are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Hawn, Don Hawn, Jerry Hawn, Dan Hawn, Justin Hawn, and Max McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers will be: Harold Terrell; Jonathan Hawn; Matt Hawn; Brad McKenzie; and Zachary Hawn.
