Co-Lin’s Minor named MACJC Player of the Week
WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln sophomore guard Ashley Minor has been named MACJC Player of the Week for all games played Jan. 27-Feb. 1.
For the week Minor averaged 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals per game in leading the Lady Wolves to a 2-0 record. The Natchez native scored 25 points and pulled down seven rebounds in Co-Lin’s 78-59 victory over Pearl River. Minor, a product of Natchez High School, was 5-for-7 from the floor and dished out a team high five assists.
Minor, currently second on the team with a 13 points per game average, ended the week with a 17 point outing in a 62-50 Co-Lin victory at Gulf Coast. Minor led the team with 11 rebounds while dishing out five assists and making two steals.
The 5-foot-6 guard leads the team in minutes played by averaging 31 minutes a game and has started in all 18 games for head coach Gwyn Young.
Co-Lin returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 6, as they travel to take on the Southwest Bears. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the men’s game to follow. Listen live at colinathletics.com.
