Funeral services for Ethel Joyce Vinzant of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb 10, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, Natchez Drive, with Dr. Richard Baukham officiating Burial will be in Southway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vinzant, 77, died Feb. 7, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was born Jan. 9, 1937, in St. Charles, La., to Duplusane and Odetta Newman Traham.
She was a member of Southway Baptist Church in Brookhaven. She worked 15 years as a department manager for J.C. Penney Co. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lynn Trahan, Odie Trahan, Boris Trahan; and sisters, Amy Prather, Pearl McGee and Ella Prather.
She is survived by her spouse, Buddy Nolan Vinzant of Brookhaven; son, Flint Millikin (Christy) of Baton Rouge; daughters, Debbie Page of Crystal Springs and Yvette Smith of Brookhaven; extended daughter, Sherrie Cross (David) of Starkville; brother, Charles Trahan; sisters, Elda Spears, Betty Bacon, Lena Comeus and Doris Reed; grandchildren, Maricina Bardwell (James), Nathan Smith (Samantha), Ashley Rando (Daniel), Kyle Cross and son Landon, Tallie Millikin and Dager Millikin; and great-grandchildren, Odette Bardwell, Xander Bardwell, Katrinia Smith, Harley Smith and Colton Smith.
Pallbearers are James Smith, Daniel Rando, Nathan Smith, Kyle Cross, James Bradwell and Denis Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Cross and Henry Primous.
