Funeral services for Robert D. Bierman of Aberdeen are 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Bret Bierman officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Mansfield. Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 3 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bierman, 64, of Aberdeen, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, S.D. He was the son of Donald L. and Emelda (Rivett) Bierman and was born Oct. 11, 1949, at Chelsea, S.D.
Mr. Bierman grew up and attended school in Cresbard, S.D. He also attended school in Redfield, S.D. for three years. After school he resided at Redfield and worked at the State Home. Later he moved to Aberdeen where he worked at the Adjustment Training Center. He later worked as a handyman in Aberdeen. In 1988, Robert moved to Springfield, S.D., where he received job training. He then returned to Aberdeen and made it his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Walter and Louise Bierman; one aunt, Doris, and his uncle, Walter.
Survivors grateful for having shared Robert’s life are his sisters, Renee (Max) Whaley of Brookhaven, Charlean Schulte of Minnesota, and Arlene (Glen) Holley of Slidell; brother, Jerry Bierman of Missouri; his aunt Gerry Dunker; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
