Funeral services for Coach Richard “Ricky” Barry Deere of McCall Creek are 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. A Committal Interment Service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Gibson Cemetery in Picayune. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, March 7, 2014, from 11 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Deere, 59, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at his residence. He was born on April 15, 1954 to John Henry Deere Sr. and Catherine Lenora Barnes Deere.

He coached and taught for many years at Pearl River Central, Enterprise Attendance Center, Bogue Chitto Attendance Center and was serving as a coach and teacher at Amite School Center. He had a passion for teaching and coaching his students and truly loved each one of them. He was an avid hunter and animal lover. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his parents; and his brother, John Henry Deere, Jr.

Survivors are his sister, Yvonne Warren and husband, Elroy; brother, Kenneth Deere and wife Marie, of Biloxi; nephews and nieces, Randall Warren, and wife Christine, Kathy Sanders and husband Dean, Connie Deere, Carole Deere, Jason Deere and Sandra Griffith; and great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
