Funeral services for Monell Smith Russell of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with burial in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, March 28, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m till time of service.

Mrs. Russell, 86, died March 26, 2014. She was born on March 4, 1928 to Columbus Alvie Smith and Ollie Leona Roberts.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her parents; and brother, Jessie Columbus Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Hubert Webb Russell; sons, the Rev. Larry H. Russell and wife, Belinda W. Russell, of Puckett, Keith A. Russell and wife, Amanda Beach Russell, of Brookhaven; brother Charles Smith of West Lincoln; sister, Joanna Mathis of West Lincoln; two grandchildren, Jason Russell and wife, Liz, of Franklinton, La., and Stephen Russell and wife, Beth, of Newton; and one great-grandchild, Hallie.
