FC Bulldogs clobber Jefferson Co.

The Franklin County Bulldogs captured a 17-0 victory over the Jefferson County Tigers in Region 7-3A baseball action.

The Bulldogs (8-5, 2-1) resume action today as they host Jefferson County today. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.

Senior Hoby Mullins was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs with four strikeouts and two walks in the three-inning one hit shutout contest. Derick Brumfield (1K, 0BB) pitched one inning in relief.

Bernard Selmon sparked Franklin County’s offense with a double and two singles. Chris Cantrell, Will Moffett and Derick Brumfield fueled the flames with a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Jacob Jordan, Thomas Single, Conner Quin, Hoby Mullins, Ethan Verdin and Antonio Christmas.

Christian Day suffered the loss for Jefferson County with three strikeouts and one walk. Day gave up 15 runs on 11 hits. Josh Day (3K, 0 BB) also saw some action in relief.

Deldrick White recorded the only hit for the Tigers on offense with a single.
