Lady Cats hammer St. Aloysius

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats captured a huge Region 7-1A win to begin their district race with a 12-2 victory over the St. Aloysius Lady Flashes Thursday night in softball action.

“We played really well tonight,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “The girls did a great job taking control of the game early. This was a very important district win.”

The Lady Cats (9-4, 1-0) will be in action today as they visit Brookhaven to battle the Brookhaven Lady Panthers. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.

Bogue Chitto 12, St. Aloysius 2 

Alana Nettles tossed the victory for the Lady Cats with one strikeout and one walk.

Avery Parman took the loss for the Lady Flashes with two strikeouts and two walks.

Christian Black sparked BC’s offense with a home run. Mattie Avants and Zariah Matthews fueled the flames with a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Terrah Nelson, Alexis Givens, Daley Roberts, Colby Kirkland and Mallory Allen.

Jordan McDonald was the top hitter for the Lady Flashes with two singles. Madison Heggins and Perry Gillis hit a single apiece.
