Funeral services for Janice Carol Oliver Townsend of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday, March 31, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Janice went to her heavenly home to live forever with her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2014. She was born on Dec. 16, 1945 to Earl Ray Oliver and Edith Hall Oliver.

She was a retired registered nurse from Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary, La., where she received many nursing awards. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Janice enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, spending time with her family, cooking her famous popcorn balls, which trick-or-treaters and their parents always enjoyed, traveling to the Smoky Mountains and of course trail riding in their covered wagon to the Dixie National Rodeo each year which was pulled by their horses, Ben and Sugarfoot.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her infant son, Robert Wanye Fuller Jr.; brother, Kenneth Oliver; and sister, Patsy Oliver Case.

Survivors are her husband, John Larry Townsend; daughter, Felicia Crane and husband, Jamie; sister, June Givens and husband, Jessie Earl; and her two grandsons, Chase Crane and Brady Crane.
