Lady Hornets cruise past McComb

The Loyd Star Lady Hornets continue their hot winning streak Saturday and swept a varsity doubleheader against the McComb Lady Tigers in softball action at Jan Smith Delaughter Field.
Loyd Star defeated McComb in Game One 11-0 and 10-0 in game two of the doubleheader.
The Lady Hornets (11-1, 3-0) will be in action today as they travel across Lincoln County to take on the Enterprise Lady Jackets. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.

Mackenzie Smith was the winning pitcher for the Lady Hornets with two strikeouts and one walk.
Paige Brock absorbed the loss for the Lady Tigers with two strikeouts and one walk.
Madison Jones powered the Lady Hornets at the plate with a double and a single. Lexie Butler and Ali Gartman provided a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Brooks Rushing, Abigail Thornton, Raigan Smith and Megan Norton.
Dynasty Cass, Bethany Davis and Kimona Wells were the top hitters for the Lady Tigers with a single apiece.

Kelsie McCullough tossed the victory for the Lady Hornets with four strikeouts and two walks.
Dynasty Carr suffered the setback for McComb with one strikeout and seven walks.
Gartman ad Norton sparked the Lady Hornets with a home run apiece. Madison Jones fueled the flames with a double and a single. Norman ripped a double. Mackenzie Smith and Raigan Smith hit safely.
Bethany Davis, Leytin Terrell and Kimora Wells paced the Lady Tigers at the plate with a single each.
