The West Lincoln Bears, Loyd Star Hornets and Enterprise Jackets battled in the 2A Regional Individual Tennis Tournament Wednesday at the Brookhaven Country Club.

In a fun-filled day of tennis, West Lincoln finished with five event members advancing to State. Loyd Star has three event members advancing to State and Enterprise will have two event members in the State individual tournament.

These proud individuals advance to the State Individual Tournament which will be held at Bridges Tennis Center on May 1-2.

In individual action to determine who will go to state:

In first round action:  Cody Leggett/Tyler Leggett from Enterprise were defeated by Bryson Brister and Lee Thomas from Loyd Star 7-6, 6-3. Cole Moak and Tyler Dunn from Loyd Star defeated Austin Patt and Matt Gill from West Lincoln 6-4, 6-3. Jordan Shelby and Toni Banks from Loyd Star defeated Allie Francis and Melanie McCaffery from Enterprise 6-1, 6-1. Madison Franklin and Carlie Smith from West Lincoln defeated Kennedy Branton and Maddie Carter from Enterprise 6-2, 6-3. In boys’ singles, Matthew Allred from West Lincoln defeated Duncan Falvey from Enterprise 6-1, 6-1. In girls singles, Ashlyn Locke from Loyd Star defeated Kristi Waldrop from Enterprise 6-1 6-2. In mixed doubles, Noah Mckone and Nancy Bacot from Enterprise defeated Reid Butler and Julie Kramer from Loyd Star 5-7, 7-6, 10-7.

In second round action:  Tay Applewhite and Gage Butler from West Lincoln defeated Bryson Brister and Lee Thomas 6-0, 6-1. Austin Carter and Wyatt Coleman from Enterprise defeated Cole Moak and Tyler Dunn from Loyd Star 6-3, 3-6, 10-2. Katy Clark and Kara Clark from West Lincoln defeated Jordan Shelby and Tori Banks from Loyd Star 6-1, 6-0. Faith Bergeron and Caylee Yarborough from Loyd Star defeated Madison Franklin and Carlie Smith from West Lincoln 6-0, 6-0.

In the Finals:  Tay Applewhite and Gage Butler from West Lincoln won the championship round against Austin Carter and Wyatt Duncan from Enterprise 7-6, 6-2. Katy Clark and Kara Clark from West Lincoln defeated Faith Bergeron and Caylee Yarborough from Loyd Star 6-0, 6-0. Conner Crosby from Loyd Star defeats Matthew Allred from West Lincoln 5-7, 7-5, 10-5. Ashlyn Locke from Loyd Star defeated Caroline Laird from West Lincoln 6-1, 6-1. Sebastian Harrell and Laura Leigh Dunaway from West Lincoln defeated Noah McKone and Nancy Bacot from Enterprise 6-2, 6-4.
