COLUMBIA – The Enterprise Yellow Jackets secured a huge district win Thursday night with a 7-4 victory over the East Marion Eagles in Region 8-2A baseball action.

With the win, Enterprise wins the district crown and will have a first round bye in the Class 2A state playoffs.

This was a huge win for us,” said Enterprise coach Cass Brister. “It wasn’t pretty, but we got the job done. Austin Fuller pitched lights out in a really big game. W needed him to step up and he responded to the task.”

I am so proud of my guys for winning district,” continued Brister. “This was a huge accomplishment considering the good teams we had to play. Overall, I am glad to get the win, but we need to refocus if we want to make a run in the playoffs. We still have adjustments that we still need to work on to be more successful.”

The Jackets (10-9, 8-2) will be in action Monday as they visit Bogue Chitto to take on the Bobcats. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 7 p.m.
