Funeral services for Gerald Dale Cox of Monticello are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, at Carmel Baptist Church, Monticello with burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Cox, 60, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at The University Medical Center in Jackson.

He loved going camping, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his son, Dakota, and daughter Ashley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Gerald Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Markeata Lynn Boyd Cox, of Monticello; his mother, Carolyn Grace Johnson Cox, Brookhaven; daughter, Ashley Michelle Cox, Mobile; son, Dakota Kaelan Cox, Monticello; and a sister, Grace Cox Applewhite, Brandon.
