Are you a high school sophomore with singing talent? You may want to try out for the Mississippi School of the Arts.
MSA will be holding additional auditions for vocal music only on May 22, and applications are due May 15. Students currently in the 10th grade interested in vocal music are invited to audition.
The process for admission includes an application, audition and interview. Accepted students attend their junior and senior years at MSA.
Applications are available on the MSA website, www.msa.k12.ms.us, by emailing admissions@mde.k12.ms.us or by calling 601-823-1300.
MSA is a public statewide 11th and 12th grade residential high school located on the Historic Whitworth College campus.
Annually, MSA enrolls approximately 145 students who meet and exceed the traditional Mississippi high school curriculum by receiving intensive instruction in dance, literary arts, theater, visual arts and vocal music.
The graduating class of 2013 received more than $4.6 million in college scholarship offers. Students interested in MSA apply their sophomore year. Qualified students attend an onsite audition process.
