Stone Co. eliminates Panthers

The Brookhaven Panther netters enter into Thursday’s South 5A State championship with high expectations but saw their dreams of winning a state title come to an end as they fell to the Stone County Tomcats 6-1 in tennis action at Brookhill.
Brookhaven, coached by Nancy Fisher, concludes their season in the team event with a 10-2 record.
The Panther’s will be in the State Individual Tournament at Ridgeland on May 1-2, with high hopes of winning individual gold.
Stone County will advance to the state team tennis finals that will be held at Ridgeland, April 30.
