Funeral services for Elmer Joe Russell of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Russell, 81, died April 27, 2014, at residence. He was born on April 29, 1932, to Hobson Russell and Unice Besson Russell.

He was in the construction industry and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Jane Vaughan Russell; daughter, Jawana Carol Russell and husband, Eddie; brothers, Jerry Russell, Prentiss Russell; sisters, Carolyn Justice, Shirely Rogers; one grandchild, Chris Hodges and wife, Niki; one great-grandson, Shay Hodges; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
