JACKSON – Several Local and Area Schools will have players participating in the State Individual Tennis Tournament this Thursday and Friday at the Ridgeland Tennis Center or at the Bridges Tennis Center.

Each player has their eyes set on winning State Championship gold for their school.

Class 1A, 2A and 6A will be playing at the Bridges Tennis Center. Class 3A, 4A and 5A will play at the Ridgeland Tennis Center. Matches begin at 9 a.m. at both tennis centers.

Here are the players that will be fighting for gold in the two-day individual tournament. In the Class 2A field: Enterprise:  Austin Carter/ Wyatt Coleman-Boys Doubles; Noah McKone/Nancy Bacot-Mixed Doubles. West Lincoln:  Tay Applewhite/Gage Bulter-Boy Doubles; Katy Clark/ Kara Clark-Girls Doubles; Sebastian Harrett/Laura Leigh Dunaway-Mixed; Matthew Allred-Boys Singles; Caroline Laird-Girls Singles. Loyd Star:  Faith Bergeron/ Caylee Yarborough-Girls Doubles; Connor Crosby-Boys Singles; Ashlyn Locke-Girls Singles.

In Class 3A events: Franklin County:  Ariyanna Mason/Morgan Moak-Girls Doubles, Brant Mason/Ken Robinson-Boys Doubles; Briana Brumfield-Girls Singles; Jordan Cummings/Si’Edriq Middleton-Girls Doubles. Wesson:  Logan Channell/Kimberly San=Mixed; C.J. Virmontez/Reid Crow-Boys Doubles; Erich Fischer-Boys Singles; Brandi McInnis-Girls Singles

In the Class 4A matches: Lawrence County:  Polk-Boys Singles; Reeves/Turnage-Boys Doubles.

In the Class 5A category, the Brookhaven Panthers will have all their players participating in individual action.
