Meanwhile Donald Hurst  works his carnival booth at the fair. The 65-year-old has been working fairs since he was 15. "Minimum wage was $1.20 at that time but I was taking home 20 percent of my profits," said Hurst. "I thought, wow, what's the matter with this? So I stayed."
