Funeral services for Maxine Wilson Smith Watts of Brookhaven was 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Damascus Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.

Mrs. Watts, 87, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Brook Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Watts was very active in her church, and served as church pianist for over 40 years, and also served as church clerk for many years. She loved to sew, garden and be a friend to everyone. She loved her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Luther Lee Wilson and Annie Lee Short Wilson Wooley; husbands, George Dewey Smith and Marvin Watts; sisters, Leta Middleton and Melanie Case; brothers, Bryan Wilson and Woodrow Wilson.

Survivors are her daughters, Ann and husband, Harold Cox, of Waycross, Georgia, Desia and husband, Bobby Ard, of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Jeff and wife, Amy Crews, of Ellaville, Georgia and Diana and husband, Kurk White, of Wesson; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Grayson Crews, Brant, Rhett, and Ella White; sister-in-law, Jackie Wilson of Brookhaven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
