BUDE – In a battle of Lincoln County, the Lincoln Nationals and the Lincoln Americans provided a exciting contest for their baseball fans to see who will advance to the championship Monday night in the Dixie Youth Baseball AA All-Star 7&8-year-old Sub-District Six Tournament at Leroy “Cowboy” Jones Memorial Field.

The Lincoln Nationals came out and quickly overpowered the Lincoln Americans from the start and managed to hold on to secure a 11-4 victory.

The Nationals will be in action today as they prepare to travel back to Bude to tangle with the Franklin County All-Stars for the North Sub-District Six Championship. Game time is set to start at 7 p.m.

Nationals 11, Americans 4 

The Nationals came out on fire as they quickly set the tone of the contest. In the first inning, the Nationals took control by grabbing a 4-0 lead at the start and continued their hot hitting streak to increase their lead to 9-0 after three inning of action.

The Americans managed to break up the Nationals’ bid of a shutout in the top of the fourth inning as they rallied back to score four runs but failed to come closer as the Nationals’ scored two more run in the bottom of the fourth inning to push their lead to 11-4 and held on for the victory.

Easton Sartin and Cadyn White were the offensive leaders for the Lincoln Nationals with three singles each. Caleb Smith contributed a double and a single. Same Evans, Noah Gatlin and Thomas King provided a pair of singles apiece. Hitting safely were Colton Frith, Jaden Lea and Hayden Adams.

Layton Waldrop and Brett Jordan were the top hitters for the Lincoln Americans with two singles apiece. Tanner Stokes, Conner Cunningham, and Colby Terrell had a double each. Matthew Newman, Brody Taggart and Zachery Hirsch hit safely.
