McComb Americans defeat Lincoln Americans

NATCHEZ – The Lincoln County Americans saw their dreams of advancing to the state tournament come to an end Tuesday night after falling to the McComb Americans 13-1 in a battle for third place in the Dixie Youth Baseball AA All-Star 7-year-old District Six Tournament at Duncan Park.

The Lincoln County 7-year-old Americans came out with high hopes of clinching the final playoff spot in the consolation game, but when the game began, the McComb Americans came out strong and quickly set the tone of the contest.

Lincoln County tried to answer McComb’s challenge but struggled to get things going offensively. McComb continued to increase their lead on offense and relied on their defense to keep Lincoln County off balance.

Lincoln County managed to score only one run against a very tough and determined McComb team.

Mark Hodges, Kayne Case and Jon Mark Beasley powered the Lincoln County Americans at the plate with a single apiece.

Kullen Melton, CJ Wall and Luke Loudenslager were the offensive leaders for the McComb Americans, hitting three single each. Layton Henagan and Liam Magee contributed a pair of doubles apiece. Jarrod Dyson ripped two singles. Wade Webber had a double. Ty Jones and Hayden Hutson hit safely.
