Co-Lin Lady Wolves tennis recognized nationally and statewide for academics

WESSON – The 2014 Copiah-Lincoln women’s tennis team was recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association as the No. 2 academic team of the year for their sport.

The Lady Wolves were also named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College academic team of the year for posting the highest grade point average out of all the women’s athletic teams in the state.

The Lady Wolves, coached by Holli Pepper, finished the year with a 3.66 GPA. Team members include: Carlianne Alderman, Caroleah Brister, Savannah Brister, Melody Smith, and Courtney Watts, all from Brookhaven; Erika Dear and Allie Dear, both from Florence; and Carly Riley from New Hebron..

Co-Lin also finished No. 2 nationally in 2013 and finished as one of the top 12 national academic teams for 16 consecutive seasons.
