A local woman was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after a fire consumed the house she was renting.

Brookhaven Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 3:50 a.m. to a fire at a home at 523 Curan Ave.

When officers arrived, the house was completely engulfed in flames. It took them two hours to clear the scene.

The renter of house was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center for treatment. Further details were not available at press time.
