Funeral Services for Charles E. Myers of Smithdale are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Concord Baptist Church in Franklin County with burial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Catchings Funeral Home of Summit is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Catchings Funeral Home in Summit and continues on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mr. Myers, 83, died June 29, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born on March 15, 1931, in Brookhaven to James W. and Ethel Pollard Myers.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a deacon and member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician from International Paper Company in Natchez. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Jimmy Myers and Jack Myers; sisters, Effie Myers Ellis, Mary Myers Frost and Annie Myers King.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Yvonne Moore Myers; sons, Charles “Eddy” Myers and wife, Cindy, of Smithdale and Alvin Myers of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Ellen Myers King and husband, Roy of Flowood; sister, Billie Myers King on Anguilla, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lisa Myers Prestridge and husband, Lance, LeAnna Myers, and Samantha McWhirter; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Chase Prestridge; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
