Lincoln Co. Americans host district six DYB Majors

DAILY LEADER / MARTY ALBRIGHT / Harrison Brownlee and the rest of the Lincoln County 12-year olds Major Americans All-Stars will be in action Friday against the Pinehill All-Stars at Keystone Park.

The Lincoln County Dixie Youth Baseball Major 12-year-old American League All-Stars begin playoff action Friday in the Dixie Youth Baseball District Six Major League Tournament at Keystone Park.

The 12-year-old American All-Stars, under the direction of head coach/manager Hugh Fortenberry, will embark on their quest to make an appearance in the state tournament in Columbia on July 18.

The tournament will host seven teams: the Lincoln County Americans, the Copiah County All-Stars, the Franklin County All-Stars, the Pine Hill All-Stars, the Walthall County All-Stars, the McComb All-Stars and the Natchez All-Stars. Each team will be working hard to claim the final three spots to advance the State Tournament.

The Lincoln County Americans Majors will be action Friday night as they concluded the tournament’s opening day of games at 8 p.m. against the Pine Hill All-Stars.

Tournament times are slated for a 4, 6 and 8 p.m. start for Friday, Saturday and Monday.
