Funeral Services for Ernest D. “Sonny” Lazarus of Summit are 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Hartman Funeral Home with burial in Adams United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Bowlin and Greg Pittman in McComb will officiate. Hartman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, July 11, 2014, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Hartman Funeral Home.

Mr. Lazarus, 77, died July 9, 2014, at Country Brook Living Center in Brookhaven. He was born on Jan. 12, 1937, in McComb to Clyde E. and Mildred Easley Lazarus.

He was a member of Adams United Methodist Church and retired as an X-Ray technician having worked in various hospitals in Mississippi. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Clyde Ray Lazarus and Charlie Lazarus; two sisters, Lillie Matthews and Norma Dunn.

Survivors are his wife of 58 happy years, Betty Coker Lazarus; two children, Debra Lazarus of Gonzales, Louisiana and David M. Lazarus of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Mary Crittenden; three brother-in-laws, Aubrey Matthews, Kenneth Dunn and H.B. Coker and wife, Francis; two sister-in-laws, Elizabeth P. Lazarus and Mary Cowart; with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Harold Phillips, Thomas Allred, Lamar McKenzie, Darren Lazarus, Randy Dunn and Michael Cowart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Adams U.M.C. 2201 Brumfield Rd Summit, MS 39666.
