During the preliminary portion of the pageant, Lewis and Murray tied in talent. Lewis, whose talent is vocal, was also chosen as a Quality of Life scholarship finalist Friday night. Lewis was named second-runner up in 2013 as Miss West Central Mississippi.

Murray’s talent is also vocal, and she has previously been a part of the top 13 of American Idol. Murray also won swimwear in the preliminary competition.
