Susan is rejoicing today in the presence of her Savior. Her memory will always be thoughts of the loving, caring, compassionate person she was. She was an educator in schools of Louisiana and Texas for nearly thirty years. She loved her students and enjoyed being in the classroom and being a part of her students lives.

She also loved baseball. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her favorite title was Baseball Mom to her two sons. The family traveled the United States playing in tournaments from New York at the Baseball Hall of Fame to Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Susan was a Tri-State athlete in track and basketball standout with her team competing for state titles. She scored the first two points ever scored in the Brookhaven Academy John R. Gray Gymnasium.

She was a proud graduate of Ole Miss and her Rebel Spirit could be heard for blocks away when Ole Miss was playing on TV. Although she lived in Texas her heart was in Brookhaven and called it home. Coming back and visiting her family and friends was something she cherished dearly.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Mathis and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith Sr.

Survivors are her husband, Pickens Brady; her parents; her sons, Thomas Brady and fiancé, Sarah Bricco, and Connor Brady; brothers, Michael Smith and wife, Cindy, and Carey Smith and wife, Joni; her father, and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom P. Brady Jr; sister-in-laws, Anna Bell Covington and husband, John Nelson, and Amy Cooley and husband, Marty; and numerous very special nieces and nephews.
