Funeral Services for Kathryn Fischer Gayle of Biloxi are 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Riemann Family Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, one hour prior to service at Riemann Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gayle, 83, died Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014, in Moss Point. She was born the second of four children to Arthur John and Ruby Lee Smith Fischer of Brookhaven.
She attended Whitworth College in Brookhaven and upon graduation she was employed by the Transportations Corps of the U.S. Army in the Pentagon. In her 25 years of employment with the Federal Government, she worked for all the military services in addition to the Dept. of Agriculture and VA. She retired as Supervisor of Medical Transportation at USAF Medical Center, Keesler AFB, MS.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a younger sister, Josephine Ann Fischer and husbands, Walter Gregory Gayle Sr. and Floyd Edward Waldrop.
Survivors are her three children, Donni Waldrop of Madison, Sherrie Kathryn Waldrop Lorentz of Bay St. Louis and Kevin Waldrop of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Aimee Rogers of Birmingham, Alabama, John Walker Jr. of Houston, Texas and Seth Walker of Estes Park, Colorado; great-granddaughter, Katie Rogers; sister, June Carr of Natchez; and her brother, Daryl Fischer of Marietta, Georgia.
