Two local men arrested on grand larceny charge

Two Brookhaven men were arrested Tuesday on grand larceny charges in connection with a car theft and are currently in the Lincoln County Jail.

Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell said that Brad A. Schilling, of 531 N. Jackson St., and Joey Quarles, of 117 North St., were arrested by the Brookhaven Police Department for allegedly stealing a car and trying to sell it at the recycling plant.

Bell received a call about the incident Tuesday. He said the two men did not have permission from the car owner and they are pressing charges.

They are being charged with grand larceny, theft valued at or above $500, which is a felony ,and if convicted, could result in a fine and/or jail time.
