Due to lightning in the area, the Southwest-Mississippi Delta game was halted with 6:21 to play in the first quarter and the Bears holding a 14-0 lead.

After a delay of well over an hour, the head coaches and athletic directors of both schools agreed not to resume the game due to time concerns. The game will be rescheduled, if necessary, at the end of the season.

The Bears now turn their attention to next week’s game at Jones County. Kickoff is set for 7:00 at Bobcat Stadium in Ellisville.
