Lady Panthers claim one win in tournament action

The Brookhaven Lady Panthers played in West Lincoln’s softball tournament last Saturday and secured one win in three games.
Brookhaven defeated Bogue Chitto in the opener 11-1, but lost to West Lincoln 4-0 in their second game and Franklin County 7-3 in the finale.
The Lady Panthers (3-7) will be in action today as they prepare to welcome Forrest Hill for a big Region test. The contest will be a varsity game only starting at 5 p.m.
Brookhaven 11, Bogue Chitto 1
Rileigh Allen was the winning pitcher for the Lady Panthers with no strikeouts and two walks.
Brooke Myers suffered the setback for BC with one strikeout and one walk.
Jada Henderson sparked Brookhaven’s offense with a home run, double and a single. Katherine Shell and Kat Wallace fueled the flames with two singles apiece. Hitting safely were Haley Speaks, Tia Bussey, Fallon Brooks and Rileigh Allen.
Mallory Allen paced the Lady Cats at the plate with a double. Christian Black had a single.
FC 7, BHS 3
Shelly Case tossed the win for the Lady Bulldogs with no strikeouts and one walk.
Rileigh absorbed the setback for BHS with three strikeouts and three walks.
Henderson continued her hot hitting streak Saturday to lead the Lady Panthers offense with a home run. Katherine Shell also blasted a home run. Julianna Porter ripped a single.
Nuda Starks powered the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with two home runs. Macy Brabham, Alyssa Case, Shelly Case, Hailey McDaniels, Emilee Wallace, Kaylin Smith and Cheyenne Higgs hit safely.
