Kids’ storytime back underway at the library

After a short summer break, storytime is underway again at the Lincoln County Public Library, said Donna Kenney, children’s librarian.
In addition to the regular Tuesday morning 10-11 a.m. time slot, a Wednesday afternoon from 2-3 p.m. was added for the month of September only. So far, six children are attending this free program but more are welcome. Contact Kenney at 601-833-3369 for information.
Upcoming themes include for storytime include:
Sept. 16: “Sounds And Music.” Books are “Meeow and the Pots and Pans,” “Tap Tap Bang Bang,” “I Stink!,” “Punk Farm” and “Animal Boogie.” Songs include “Little White Duck” and “Wheels on the Bus.” The storytime also will include playing musical instruments.
Sept. 23: “Apples and autumn.” Apple storybooks include “Ten Red Apples”; “Pumpkin, Pumpkin”; “Frisky, Brisky Hippity Hop”; “Ol’ Mama Squirrel”; and “Leaf Man.” There also will be a leaf or apple craft and an apple snack.
Sept. 30: “Big Bear Day.” Bring a stuffed animal for games. Books include “Every Autumn Comes the Bear”; “Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear?”; “Goodnight Moon”; and “One Dark Night.” A snack also is planned.
Daycares or kindergartens desiring a special storytime this month are asked to call the library at 601-833-3369 and ask for Kenney.
