Brookhaven Southern Wildcats sweep Patriots

The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats captured two victories over the Open Arm Patriots in TNT Youth Football League action last Saturday in Brookhaven.
Brookhaven defeated Open Arm 12-6 in the 9-10 year-old game. The Wildcats crushed the Patriots 36-0 in the 7-8 year-old game.
The Wildcats play again Saturday as they travel to McComb to take on the McComb Ironhorse team starting at 6 p.m.
BSW 12, Patriots 6
Kenneth Dixon was the offensive leader for the Wildcats with 93 yards rushing.
Malachi Clark contributed 60 yards rushing and scored a 30-yard rushing touchdown.
Tyrone Jones also scored a four-yard touchdown for Brookhaven and had a total of 20 yards rushing.
Defensively, Caleb Jacobs directed the Wildcats with four tackles, Kermit Sartin and Tyrell Adams had three stops apiece.
BSW 36, Patriots 0
Elijah Calcote provided a monstrous game for the Wildcats as he finished with 171 yards rushing, three touchdowns and punched in two, two-point conversions.
Calcote scored his touchdowns on runs of 40, 79 and 35 yards.
Cory Smith had 80 yards rushing and a touchdown. Christian Collins provided 30 yards to Brookhaven’s ground attack.
Defensively, Calcote paced BSW with eight tackles. Darrell Washington provided five stops. Markel Smith and Devion Byrion had two tackles each. Markel Smith also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown. Daylane Barden recovered a fumble.
