Lady Cats roast Lumberton

LUMBERTON – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats dominated the Lumberton Lady Panthers Tuesday night to gain an impressive 25-5 victory in Region 7-1A softball action.

The Lady Cats (8-6, 1-0) continues their road tour Thursday as they prepare to invade Stringer to take on the Stringer Lady Red Devils. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.

The Lady Cats came out on fire Tuesday night and torched the Lady Panthers early to claim a 15-3 lead after one inning of action. Bogue Chitto would continued to fueled the flames in the second and third innings as they outscored Lumberton 10-2 to secure the victory in three innings of action.

Brooke Myers was the winning pitcher for BC with one strikeout and one walk.

Keelay Abercrombie suffered the loss for the Lady Panthers with no strikeouts and six walks.

Christian Black provided the offensive spark to lead the Lady Cats at the plate with two home runs, a double and a single. Colby Kirkland continued to fueled the flames with a home run. Alana Nettles contributed a triple and a single. Zariah Matthews, Brooke Myers and Cherie Savioe provided a pair of singles each. Mallory Allen had a double. Hitting safely were Terrah Nelson and Karly Leake.

Jasmine McGill directed Lumberton’s offense with a double and a single. Tamya Bush hadt two singles. Aryssa Fountain, Jayde Tribetty and Courtney King hit safely.

In JV action,  the Lady Cats roasted the Lady Panthers 12-2.

Stevie Montgomery tossed the win for Bogue Chitto.

Destiny Wallace paced the Lady Cats’ offense with a home run. Codi Leggett contributed two singles. T’Asia Black ripped a triple. Hitting safely were Lineka Newson, Payton Barron and Stevie Montgomery.
