Loyd Star Cross Country had excellent times on the clock at the Clinton High School Invitational Meet on Saturday. The Lady Hornets placed fifth overall out of 13 teams and the Junior Varsity boys placed fifth overall out of 13 teams.

Making special placements were Lady Hornets Abby Thomas and Julie Smith. Thomas placed 13th overall and Smith placed 19th overall, out of all varsity girls competing for the finish line. Thomas finished with a 5K time of 22.33 and Smith finished with a 5K time of 23:26.
