BSW sweeps Natchez

NATCHEZ – The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats captured three victories over the Natchez Saints in TNT Youth Football League action last Saturday.

Brookhaven defeated Natchez 18-0 in the 11-12 year-old game. The Wildcats crushed the Saints 30-0 in the 9-10 year-old game. In 7-8 year-old action, BSW thumped Natchez 24-6.

The Wildcats will play again Saturday, hosting the Tylertown Rams at King Field. The first game starts at 10 a.m.

BSW 18, Natchez 0 

Sedrick Brothern was the offensive leader on the field for the Wildcats with 133 yards rushing. Brothern scored two rushing touchdowns on the evening on runs of 80 and 35 yards.

Damarrion McNulty was the second leading rusher with 106 yards. Ja’Qaveon Anderson rushed for 23 yards and scored an 11-yard rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Sedrick Anderson led BSW with four tackles. McNulty intercepted a pass.

BSW 30, Natchez 0 

Kenneth Dixon powered the Wildcats to victory with 115 yards rushing and scored two rushing touchdown on runs of 35 yards each. He also punched in a two-point conversion.

Malachi Clark contributed 85 yards rushing and scored twice on an 80-yard touchdown run and a 5-yard run.

Brice Barfoot provided two rushing touchdowns on 5-yard runs each and cashed in a two-point conversion twice. Tyrone Jones had 33 yard rushing.

Defensively, Kermit Sartin directed Brookhaven with 4 tackles. Terrell Adams and Clarks contributed 3 tackles apiece. Dominique Smith had two stops. Caleb Harris had one tackle and a fumble recovery.

BSW 24, Natchez 6 

Elijah Calcote paced the Wildcats offense with 121 yards rushing and scored rushing touchdown on sprints of 15 and 20 yards. He also punched in a two-points conversion.

Markel Smith finished with 33 yards rushing and had a 10-yard rushing touchdown. Smith also cashed in a two-point conversion.

Cory Smith contributed 22 yards to Brookhaven’s ground attack and a two-point conversion.

Defensively, Cory Smith was the top tackler for BSW with 7 tackles. Dyrrell Washington and Calcote provided 3 stops apiece. Adarris Tillman, Martel Smith and Jatwon Bond had two tackles apiece. Tillman recovered a fumble.
