BRAG hosts annual art competition

The Brookhaven Regional Art Guild is at again. With over $2,000 in prizes, the sixth annual Art Competition is bringing out the best in the area.

This year, the show has over 100 entries in seven categories, including oils, acrylics, water media, pastel and drawing, photography, 3-D and mixed media. The show is on display at the Lincoln County Library and will run until Oct. 31.

The competition will include ribbons for first, second and third places as well as honorable mention. The top piece will be awarded a Best in Show award.

The public can vote on the People’s Choice award, and this will be awarded at the end of the show.

Many of the pieces of art are for sale.

There will be a reception, open to the public, Oct. 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Winners in all categories will be announced at 5 p.m. The reception will be held at the Lincoln County Public Library in the Vernon Room. Light refreshments will served.

Many of the artists will be attending the reception and will be able to answer questions about their work.

BRAG is part of The Brookhaven Trust.
