Last year, BC lost to Noxapater in the quarterfinals of the girls 1A South State Tournament.

Terrell will have the same nucleus coming back, only losing one to graduation; Mattie Avants.

“We are looking forward to get the season started,” said Terrell. “We lost only one senior last season and we have been working hard to fill in those shoes.

“We have a great mix of guards and post players this season,” continued Terrell. “The girls have been practicing hard and we are ready to get down to business this Thursday.”

This year, Terrell has 11 players on squad. Lauren McCaffrey is the only senior on this year team that will be providing the senior leadership to help direct the Lady Cats this season in Region 7-1A action.

Returning starters for the Lady Cats are Zariah Matthews, Lauren McCaffrey, Christian Black and Karlie Williams. BC’s reserves are Taneshia May, Terrah Nelson, Shakirianna Jefferson, Lineka Newson, Perstashia Henderson, Tukiyah Godbolt and Kylie Hux.

BC relying on Guards

Second year head coach Mark Pitts and his Bobcats are anxious to start the season. BC will be looking to improve on a 10-19 record from last year.

The Bobcats are focusing on their strong guard play to have a successful season. Jeremiah Perkins is the only returning starter back from last year squad. BC lost Dennis Rogers, Damien Terrell, Brock Roberts and Eli Holmes to graduation.

“I am excited for the upcoming season,” said Pitts. “My guys have worked very worked this offseason to get ready for the opener.”

This year, Pitts has 14 players on the squad. Jeremiah Perkins, Brooks Ingle, Seth Davis, Matthew Black and Will Fauver are the seniors that will provide leadership to help the Bobcats to have a great season.
