Funeral Services for Paul Dewitt Smith of Brookhaven are 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services with burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Services.

Mr. Smith, 76, died Nov. 4, 2014, at his residence. He was born on March 18, 1938, to Boyce and Lois Pickering Smith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter-in-law, Linda Beasley Smith; nephew, Todd Smith; and sister-in-law, Dorothy C. Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Bettie Hart Smith; sons, Timothy Paul Smith and wife, Vicky, Hugh D. Smith and wife, Debbie; daughter, Regina Freeman and husband, Jerry; brother, Gerald Smith and wife, Sandra; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Hataway and husband, Tommy, Bradley Reid and wife, Allison, Jeremy Smith, Bethany Fortenberry and husband, Trey, Chad Smith, Ashley Hudson and husband, Jason, Caitlin Smith and husband, Reid; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
