Enterprise stings Pisgah

SANDHILL – The Enterprise Yellow Jackets traveled to Pisgah Thursday night and swept the home-standing Dragons in varsity basketball action.

In the varsity girls’ game, the Lady Jackets maintained perfection on the young season as they defeated Pisgah 47-32.

In the boys’ contest, Coach Knight’s Yellow Jackets notched their first victory of the season 61-44.

Enterprise returns to action on Nov. 21, as Pisgah will look to seek revenge as they travel to Lincoln County for a rematch with the Yellow Jackets. Varsity girls’ will tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity boys’ game at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Jackets 47, Lady Dragons 32 

A balanced scoring attack seemed to once again propel the Enterprise Lady Jackets as they continued their string of victories to begin the season by knocking off Pisgah 47-32 on Thursday night.

The Lady Jackets were led offensively by Megan Rippy, Michelle Herrington and Alisa Barlow scoring eight points a piece. Markie Case’s seven points, (six of which were in the first quarter), added to the Lady Jackets total. Michelle Herrington led Enterprise with seven rebounds. Barlow added six assists for the Lady Jackets.

Pisgah’s AG Stewart scored 13 points for the Lady Dragons in the loss. Enterprise (3-0) led 26-16 at intermission and never looked back.

Jackets 61, Pisgah 44 

The Enterprise boys experienced victory for the first time on the young season as they knocked off Pisgah 61-44.

Sophomore Dwayne Pendleton continued his hot start to the season as he netted 22 points for Enterprise, including a trio of three pointers in the third quarter to help the Jackets pull away to victory.

Enterprise (1-2), led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. Woeful shooting and turnovers plagued the Jackets in the second quarter as they could only muster one point and saw their first quarter lead go by the wayside as they trailed Pisgah 22-16 at halftime.

The second half was a different story for the Jackets offensively, as they scored 45 points in the second half alone on their way to the 17-point win. Zach Hodges drained 12 points and Jarrod Johnson’s 10 aided the Jackets.

Pisgah was led by Damien and Malik Watson scoring 12 and 11 points respectively.

In the junior action, Enterprise’s Lady Jackets defeated Pisgah 14-12. In the junior high boys’ game, Pisgah outlasted Enterprise 31-28. The Junior High Jackets return to action Monday night as they play host to the St. Andrews Saints. The junior high girls’ game is set to tip off at 5 p.m. followed by the junior high boys’ contest.
