Wolves knock off Southern-Shreveport

SUMMIT – The Co-Lin Wolves secured their second straight win of the season in back-to-back games as they rallied from behind to knock off the Southern-Shreveport Jaguars 57-46 Monday afternoon in the Southwest Coca Cola Classic Tournament.

The Wolves, coached by Kenny Bizot, will be in action today as they prepare to revisit Summit for Day Two tournament action against the Northwest Rangers. Game time starts at 3:30 p.m.

The Wolves and Jaguars came out and provided an exciting defensive battle in the first half as both teams struggle to get their offense going in the first four minutes of action.

The Jaguars managed to find their offensive rhythm late in the first half to take a 33-23 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Wolves relied on their strong defensive pressure to shut down the Jaguars offense as Co-Lin outscored Southern-Shreveport 34-13 to claimed the win.

Co-Lin trailed until Dante’ Watson put them up 39-38 on a 3-point play with 9:53 remaining. Wolves outscored the Jaguars 34-13 in the 2nd half.

Jadarius Haymer and Watson sparked the Wolves rally as both lead the team in scoring with 13 points each. Darius Kennedy helped fueled the flames with 10 points. Jordan Lumpkin and Kennedy were the leaders on the boards for Co-Lin with 7 rebounds apiece.

Dontario McNeal was the top scorer and rebounder on the Jaguars’ team with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Patrick Smith contributed 11 points.
