Panthers feast on Bulldogs

MEADVILLE – The Brookhaven Panthers travel to Meadville Tuesday night and captured a 81-43 win over the Franklin County Bulldogs in varsity basketball action.
Brookhaven resumes action Friday night in Summit, as they prepare to take on the North Pike Jaguars. Girls’ action starts at 6 p.m., followed by the boys contest at 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers quickly took of business Tuesday night as they dominated the Bulldogs in the first half of action with a 20-9 in the first quarter and a 34-3 run in the second quarter to take a commanding 54-12 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Panthers (8-1) high-octane offense took their foot off the gas to cruise to the win.
Franklin County won the scoring battle in the final two frames of action. The Bulldogs put together a 22-19 run in the third quarter and nip the Panthers 9-8 in fourth quarter.
Senior guard Randy Wilson powered the Panthers with 15 points and five rebounds to lead three players in double figures. Darrian Wilson chipped in with 13 points and had three rebounds. Garrick Smith provided 11 points and was the leader on the boards with six rebounds.
