Franklin County wins at Enterprise

Saturday afternoon was successful for the Franklin County Bulldogs as they were able to sweep a pair of varsity basketball games at Enterprise.
In the varsity girls’ game, the Lady Bulldogs handed the Lady Jackets their first loss of the season 47-26.
In the varsity boys’ game, Franklin County had a huge second half as they cruised to a 73-39 win.
Enterprise returns to action on today as they travel to Jackson to do battle with the Mississippi School for the Deaf. Tip-off in Jackson is set for 6:00 pm beginning with the varsity girls.
Franklin County 47, Enterprise 26
A fast first quarter start set the tone of the game early for the Lady Bulldogs as they jumped out to an 11-2 advantage after one quarter of action.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to increase their lead as they outscored Enterprise (6-1) by six points in the second quarter to lead the Lady Jackets 27-12 at halftime.
Franklin County continued to outscore the Lady Jackets in the second half as they picked up the 21 point victory.
Freshman Carlee Nations led Enterprise in scoring with 7 points in the loss. Franklin County was led by two players scoring in double figures.
Tadayla Hunt fired in 17 points and Janecia Starks pumped in another 10 points to pace the Lady Bulldogs.
Franklin County 73, Enterprise 39
After a slow start by both teams in the first quarter, the second quarter provided points a plenty as Franklin County carried a 26-20 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
After some second half adjustments, the Bulldogs outscored Enterprise 27-9 in the third quarter to seize the momentum that would lead them to victory. The Bulldogs continued to pull away in the fourth quarter as they totaled 47 points in the second half on their way to routing the Jackets.
Franklin County finished with four players scoring in double-figures led by Kel Covington’s 14 points. Trianthony Hunt added 13 points for the Bulldogs. James Davis scored 12 points and Tony Gibbs fired in 11 more to add to Franklin County’s total.
Enterprise was led by eighth grader Jontavious Smith’s 17 points and 6 rebounds. Dwayne Pendleton chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Jackets in the loss.
Franklin County 16, Enterprise 10
In the junior varsity girls’ game, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Enterprise 16-10. Jasmine Treadway led Franklin County in scoring with 8 points. Enterprise was led by Emaya Smith and Karlee Burgess with 4 points apiece
Franklin County 25, Enterprise 21
In the junior varsity boys’ game, Franklin County escaped with a 25-21 victory. Dean Buckles led the Bulldogs attack with 9 points. Cade Feltus powered Enterprise with 9 points in the loss. Noah McKone chipped in 6 points for the Jackets.
