West Lincoln sweeps Wesson

West Lincoln’s junior high basketball teams swept a pair of games over Wesson on Saturday afternoon at Jack Case Gymnasium.
In the girls game, the Lady Bears came out strong in the 2nd half and rolled to a 43-25 win. Jana Case led West Lincoln with 18 points, while Megan Gerald provided 8 points. Wesson was led by the 8-point efforts from Kierra Brown and Jerinesha Edwards.
The boys’ contest ended in dramatic fashion as Karlton Byrd drained a 3-pointer as time expired to give the Bears a 40-39 victory over the Cobras. Jatavian Lewis sparked West Lincoln with 19 points, while Byrd added 12 points. Cameron Gladden led Wesson with 9 points.
West Lincoln’s junior high teams are off now until after the Christmas break. The Bears and Lady Bears will resume play on Monday, January 5, hosting Loyd Star for a pair of games beginning at 5:00.
