Funeral Services for Clifton Allred of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Services and will resume Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. Allred, 83, died Dec. 18, 2014, at St. Dominic’s Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1931, to Robert Lee Allred and Eula Adams Allred.

Mr. Clifton retired June of 1993 as a lieutenant of the Brookhaven Police Department where he served for 21 years. He also worked for Brookhaven Public Schools for 29 years. He drove the athletic bus 25 of those years. After retiring, he worked with Sullivan Ford. He also served 15 years in the bus ministry at Easthaven Baptist Church where he was an active member. Mr. Clifton, known as Papaw by his grandchildren and family, always loved sports at Brookhaven High School and Brookhaven Academy, especially the years his grandchildren were involved in the sport programs.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and son, Clifton Keith Allred.

Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Betty Quin Allred; sons, Robert Duane Allred and wife, Lynda, of Brookhaven and Ramsey Lee Allred and wife, Christine, of Tupelo; seven grandchildren, Kelly Allred and wife, Lindsey, Trey Allred, Kim Allred Wallace and husband, Chancy, Bradley Quin Allred and wife, Meagan, all of Brookhaven, Christopher Wright, Hannah Wright and Matthew Quin Allred, all of Tupelo; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Brown, Dorothy Scadden and husband, Raymond; brothers-in-law, Earl Quin and wife, Bonnie and Harry Quin.

Memorials may be made to Easthaven Baptist Church Building Fund, 130 Highway 84 E, Brookhaven, MS 39601 or First Baptist Church of Tupelo, Day School or Mission Fund, 300 North Church Street, Tupelo, MS 38804.
