Funeral Services for Nellie Boyd “Mawmaw” Freeman of Crystal Springs are 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 894 Natchez Drive, with burial in Ruth Cemetery.

Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the services start.

Mrs. Freeman, 90, died Dec. 24, 2014, at McComb Nursing and Rehab Center in McComb. She was born on June 28, 1924 in Lincoln County to Pink Rushing and Mamie Johnson Rushing.

She was homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Charles Boyd, who was the father of her children, and Johnny Freeman; her sons Cecil Boyd and Zeb Wayne Boyd; her daughter-in-law, Connie Boyd; brother, Marvin Rushing; and sister, Etta Freeman.

Survivors are her daughter, Catherine White and husband, Bobby; her son, Jerry Boyd and wife, Judy, both of Ruth; her step-daughter Janet McPhearson; step-son John Freeman, both of Jackson; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a host of special nieces and nephews; and a special friend Jimmy Thomas.
