Funeral Services for Curtis Posey of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, with burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on East Lincoln Road. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.
Mr. Posey, 69, died Jan. 6, 2015, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb. He was born on Sept. 16, 1945, to Charlie and Hattie Woolley Posey of Brookhaven.
He was semi-retired as a carpenter and was music director at Antioch Baptist Church. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was active in the Lincoln County Baptist Men organization and had participated in more than 30 mission trips to build churches in several states. In 2007, he received the Golden Deeds Award from the Brookhaven Exchange Club. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, David E. Posey.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Murray Posey of Brookhaven; three daughters, Michelle Posey Davis of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tawanna Thornton of Brookhaven and Sharon Flynt of Picayune; son, David Posey of Brownsville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Mary Beth Thornton, Curt Thornton, Carlie Flynt, Ellton Flynt, Charlie Davis, Nate Davis and Elias Posey.
