Funeral Services for Wayne McGee of Wesson are 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Clear Branch Baptist Church in Wesson with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Clear Branch Baptist Church.

Mr. McGee, 67, died Jan. 13, 2015, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst. He was born on April 30, 1947, to Virgil W. McGee and Ira Pearl Ritchey McGee.

Mr. McGee was the 2013 recipient of “Golden Deeds Award’s” from Brookhaven Exchange Club, and he also received multiple Teacher of the Year awards. He retired after teaching 40 years in the Brookhaven and Copiah County schools. He was very active with the Hospice Ministries of Brookhaven, and he sang at nursing homes in Copiah and Lincoln Counties.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Wanda Williams Clark McGee; daughter, Katie Walker and husband, Austin; and sisters, Lynda Rae Freeman and Patsy Hayden.

Memorials may be made to Clear Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 2166 Clear Branch Land, Wesson, MS 39191.
